Hi, I’m Dr. Amy!

My Approach

Dr. Amy works compassionately with humans of all genders in midlife, who may be experiencing an uptick in mental health challenges, physical hormone changes, and more by supporting folks from irritability & burnout to vibrance & pleasure. Regardless of your gender or sex at birth, if you are in midlife and want to get a handle on your B-side (the second half of your life) you are going to need new tools in your toolbox that are creative, integrative & crafted specifically to YOU as a Catalyst to your mental & physical health. Your B-side to your Life will need a B-side to your health.

Let’s do this together.

Craft & Clinic is mostly virtual right now! This means we can help more people than we could with just a physical clinic. We sometimes we offer retreats, in person workshops or hikes or other activities for that in person community building, but for now, all doctor visits are via telehealth! Get cozy & have your doctor visits from the comfort of your home! (Stay tuned for more information about going back to in person patient care in the near future!)

People living in Washington & California can work directly 1:1 with Dr. Amy Lindsey. Don’t live in WA or CA but interested in our services? Don’t fret! We have many educational tools & seek to do all we can on many platforms. Look for webinars, group health coaching opportunities, retreats & free insights on the email HERE.

Craft & Clinic Naturopathic Medicine® offers several health plans that include visits, lab & imaging analysis, treatment plans, messaging & frequent check ins. Your relationship with Craft & Clinic Naturopathic Medicine® will start immersive while we tackle your most immediate healthcare needs & goals.

Craft & Clinic Naturopathic Medicine® is a DIRECT CARE virtual clinic at this time. Plans are underway for in person experience. All services are direct pay to Craft & Clinic. We do not bill insurance for you. You may, however, request a superbill that you can submit to your insurance to seek partial reimbursement depending on your plan & the state you live in.

If you do carry health insurance, we recommend you keep it for primary care services with your provider, or to protect against any major healthcare needs such as hospitalization, accidents & other needs.

Standard Lab work is not included in our pricing to allow you flexibility to use your insurance or other benefits. Some non-standard labs such as genetic testing may be included in pricing depending on the plan you choose with Craft & Clinic Naturopathic Medicine®.

Here are some ways we can take payment:

    • Take HSA & FSA & major credit cards for payment
    • Provide you with a superbill upon request that you can submit to your insurance carrier for possible reimbursement at an out-of-network rate depending on your plan & the state you live in.
    • We do recommend that if you have health insurance, you stay enrolled as you may need it for services from other providers, hospitalization, cancer treatments, accidents, long-term specialized care & lab work.

When I was 8 years old, my father turned our swimming pool into a vegetable garden. I remember that day like it was yesterday. It was the last week of school, hot as hell in Salt Lake City, no air conditioning on our school bus & sticky legs on green vinyl seats. My only thought was the relief of a jump into the pool. I came running up to the house & saw a large dump truck backing into the yard. My dad motioned me to stand back & I watched as an empty swimming pool was filled with dirt. Noooooooooooooooo!

What got into him? My dad had just turned 50 & was in reckoning with his health. He stopped eating sugar, started boxing & strength training & fed us vegetables from the swimming pool garden. I rolled my eyes at him. What I would find out later, was this foundation he gave me would become my rock for my own health.

My reckoning came when I was 35 years old. I was working in the music industry & had spent the last 10+ years working long & late hours at festivals & in clubs. I hadn’t been feeling well for a long time & started to notice that my body was behaving in ways it never had before. I was scared. I avoided the doctor afraid of bad news or worse: that it was all in my head. I finally made an appointment.

The bright lights & the cold exam table couldn’t distract me from the words “cancer or not, these growths will keep growing & coming back, so best to remove your uterus & ovaries.” WHAT. The word “cancer” scared the hell out of me. Both my mother-in-law & father-in-law died of cancer. Many of my friends were currently battling breast cancer. It seemed cancer was everywhere. NOT ME TOO. I had abnormal growths in my uterus & it was unclear at that point if they were cancerous or not. The doctor shrugged, “removing your uterus & ovaries is no big deal.” No big deal. No pregnancies & early menopause. This felt wrong. My uterus & ovaries were a big deal to me & I planned on keeping them if I could. I walked out. A friend of mine suggested I try a Naturopathic Doctor. I made an appointment.

The waiting room was warm & welcoming. I was offered hot tea. The Naturopathic Doctor was calm & nurturing. She asked me questions no other doctor had asked. She ordered tests no doctor had ordered. We found answers. I have a genetic mutation that impairs how I metabolize estrogen. This explained the abnormal growths in my uterus. This also meant I was at a higher risk for estrogen driven cancers. Then she said something I’ll never forget, “Amy, your genes are not your destiny.” My genes are not my destiny. Everything stopped spinning in that moment. I felt empowered in my own health. The memory of my dad’s swimming pool garden & boxing bag popped into my head. I got it. My dad knew this, too. My eyes welled up in tears. “So, what if I have cancer?” I asked. She said one step at a time & referred me to a different gynecologist for a procedure to remove & biopsy the growths.

The biopsy revealed that I didn’t have cancer. Relief. I could breathe. I soaked this in & then remembered my genetic mutation. I got to work.

With the help of my Naturopathic Doctor, I adjusted my diet & lifestyle & the impact of environmental toxins & chronic stress. I began strength training & started to think & behave differently. I supported my body, mind & spirit. This was not overnight. This was slow medicine.

One year later, my health had drastically improved & no new abnormal growths to report. One night at 3am, while breaking down a drum kit after a show I produced, it hit me: I was exhausted & my career no longer served my well-being. I had another change to make. At age 36, I quit working in the music industry & applied to Naturopathic medical school. Right on the heels of receiving my acceptance letter, I learned I was pregnant. Good thing I kept my uterus & my ovaries! Everything all at once. A new baby & a new career path.

Music & medicine are my passion. I still get to do both. I get to play music & teach music to my children. I get to work as a Naturopathic Doctor empowering people to discover their own path to health & healing. We do this together. We collaborate & integrate with their other healthcare professionals along the way.

I am grateful for the road less traveled paved by my own dad with that swimming pool garden. I may not have said it then, but I’d like to now: “Thanks Dad.”
